Organically Grown Grapes
Tasting Notes
A pretty shiraz with blueberries, orange peel and lemons and some oyster shell. While the fruit is vibrant and delicious, there’s also some more serious tannin grip, and this ends crunchy and medium chewy. From organically grown grapes.

About Spring Seed
Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wine Co is owned and managed by Joch Bosworth and his partner, Louise Hemsley-Smith. Joch’s parents planted the vineyard in the early 1970’s. Son Joch took over the management in 1995 and was responsible for converting the vineyards to Organic. All vineyards are Australian Certified Organic for both brands.
Louise and Joch established the brands Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wine Co in 2001. All wine for both brands is estate grown and Organic. Joch is the viticulturist and winemaker while Louise manages Sales and Marketing. Joch’s winemaking philosophy is a constant spirit of experimentation in the vineyard and winery, along with traditional vinification and natural minimal processing, combined with organic and sustainable viticulture allowing them to capture the purity, integrity, texture and flavour of the vineyard in their wines.
Spring Seed Wines are made from grapes lovingly grown in the Bosworth family’s organic vineyards, located in the premium wine region of McLaren Vale, South Australia.
The vineyards were established in the early 1970s by Peter and Anthea Bosworth, and are now owned and run by their son Joch (and partner Louise Hemsley-Smith), who began the conversion to organic viticulture in 1995.
The vines are fully certified ‘A’ grade organic by Australian Certified Organic (ACO P/L ), a process that takes four years and involves yearly audits and random sampling of produce. Joch Bosworth also makes Battle of Bosworth wines using grapes from our organically grown and certified vineyards, please visit here.
