TASTING NOTES

Our Sauvignon Blanc is bright, lively and fresh with a pop of citrus flavors and hints of tropical fruit. Aromas of pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit and lychee burst out of the glass. Notes of lemon curd, green apple and apricot linger on the palate with a fresh, clean finish and bracing minerality.

Food Pairing –  this crisp white wine goes great with light summer salads or grilled seafood.

VINEYARDS
We believe that great wines are made in the vineyard and we are committed to farming sustainably and naturally to preserve these properties for the long term. All of our estate vineyards are certified Fish Friendly and two of our estate-grown vineyards contribute to the richness of this wine;

VINTAGE
The 2020 season will be remembered for factors beyond the normal measurements. Here in the valley, it was a warm, dry winter and we didn’t start to see rain and cold weather until the end of March. Summer brought very cool mornings and very warm days. The white wine harvest
started in early August. While the 2020 Napa Valley harvest proved to be one of the most challenging in history, we are committed to bottling wines of the highest quality.

WINEMAKING
To add complexity and depth to our Sauvignon Blanc our vineyard team harvests in three
stages of flavor development, picking the fruit at varied levels of ripeness. After pressing,
the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain bright acidity and preserve
fresh aromatics.

About Peju Winery

A love of farming and a passion for wine brought Tony Peju to the Napa Valley. Born near the Caspian Sea, Tony’s ideas for Peju Winery were derived from his experiences in France, England and Los Angeles. In 1983, Tony and his wife Herta (H.B.) purchased 30 acres of land in the Napa Valley with the magic ingredient – location.
Neighboring vineyards in Rutherford includes Robert Mondavi, Inglenook and Beaulieu Vineyard. Situated between Highway 29 and the Napa River, the acreage included a 1900-era house and vineyards. Looking to the future, Tony and Herta (H.B.) continue to play a vital advisory role, but daughters Lisa and Ariana along with a strong management team are now leading the future direction of the winery.
