Winemakers Notes

A seductive wine and a really nice expression of the Chardonnay grape! The colour is golden, with some green reflections. Among the floral and fruity aromas, almond and ripe grapes dominate. On the palate, the wine is refreshingly pleasant, ethereal in its lightness. Long and refreshing aftertaste.

About Maison Joseph Drouhin

While the Estate now encompasses 93 hectares in some of the most prestigious “climats” of Burgundy, one must go back to the year 1880 to feel the pulse of Maison Joseph Drouhin

By focusing on wine quality and respecting the diversity of Burgundy’s vineyards, quickly combining the roles of négociant, producer, and above all, owner, the House quickly made a name for itself in the world. The generations of Drouhin succeeded each others, strengthening the House’s reputation through the acquisition of numerous prestigious plots all over Burgundy. Guided by the revelation of these magical terroirs, unwavering ethics, and the distinctive Drouhin style characterized by finesse and elegance.

Maison Joseph Drouhin is led by the four great-grandchildren of Joseph Drouhin. Philippe, Véronique, Laurent, and Frédéric, each of them holds key and complementary positions to sustain and expand the family business. They grew up in the vineyards and acquired a deep understanding of wine alongside their father, Robert Drouhin. The fifth generation is also beginning to emerge, with Laurène, the eldest daughter of Véronique, joining the House in 2020.

Vintage after vintage, they uphold tradition and innovate, continually striving for that “elegant perfection” which has earned Joseph Drouhin wines their renowned reputation. Alongside them, a dedicated team of women and men contributes daily to perpetuate the House’s tradition of excellence; we often refer to them as the extended Drouhin Family.

With 93 hectares, Domaine Joseph Drouhin is currently one of the largest estates in the region. It is spread across the entire Burgundy wine region: Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais. The estate comprises mainly Grand Crus and Premier Crus, planted with the two iconic Burgundian grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
