Tasting Notes

The 2020 Zinfandel Buck Cobb Vineyard stands out in this range for its aromatic intensity and mid-weight structure. In 2020, winemaker Tegan Passalacqua excluded Alicante and Mourvèdre from the blend, which likely explains the wine’s gracious personality. Sweet red cherry fruit, rose petal, mint, cedar and cinnamon all grace this wonderfully expressive Zinfadel from Turley. There is a bit of underlying grittiness in the tannin, but that is one of the signatures of the year.

Vinous 92 Points

About Turley Wine Cellars

Turley Wine Cellars makes forty-seven wines from over fifty vineyards, the vast majority of which are single vineyard designate Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs. By focusing on old vine vineyards in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture.

All of our vineyards are either certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers or somewhere in the process, and we use all natural yeasts in the fermentations.

We aim to be stewards of some of California’s most historic vineyards, producing distinctive wines that reflect their heritage.

OUR VALUES

We are genuine and loyal to our people, our vineyards, and our wines. Like our wines, we are generous, unique, and over-deliver in all we do. We have fun and put the interest of others first. We value education and continuous learning, and encourage our people to reach their full potential and shine. We act with integrity wherever we are, whatever we do — even when no one is watching.
