About the Vallana Family
The Vallana family has a long tradition in the wine business dating back to the eighteenth century.
The Vallana estate is located in Alto Piemonte (Northern Piedmont), in the North West of Italy. The soils here are Schuhe acidic, unlike the rest of Italy, and the climate is positively influenced by the beautiful mountains and lakes of the region. The combination of climate and soil make this a very unique terroir.
Vallana makes red wines of incredible longevity from Spanna, the local name for Nebbiolo. Campi Raudii, Spanna, Boca and Gattinara are the four Vallana Nebbiolo-based wines. Vallana makes wine also from other native varieties, like the world-famous Barbera.
