This wine shows lovely complexity with blackcurrant, cinnamon, orange rind, vanilla, and undertones of almonds and herbs. The palate has a generous amount blue fruit to it, tight tannins, a wave of fresh acidity, and a fruit-forward, tangy finish. Truly a great expression of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
This is the inaugural release of Vincent Christopher; a singular Pinot Noir bottling, expressing the extreme viticulture of one the West Sonoma Coast’s most exciting and exclusive sites. A passion project, named for their two sons, this is also the realization of a long-held desire by vintners Stanley and Helen Cheng to craft a California Pinot Noir with the depth, balance, and grace to rival their favorite Burgundy grand crus.
About Hestan Vineyards
Hestan Vineyards is a picturesque estate located on Napa Valley’s remote eastern slopes. The vineyard is named for owners Helen and Stanley Cheng, whose passion for fine wines and love for Napa Valley’s beauty and charm led them to purchase the property – a former cattle ranch – in 1996. They immediately prepared to plant grapes, adding small blocks over the years to take advantage of the site’s myriad of exposure and well-drained soils. In keeping with the Chengs’ commitment to land stewardship, both the vineyard and gardens are sustainably farmed and 100% solar powered. Hestan Vineyards was born from the culinary passion of Stanley Cheng and his wife, Helen. This husband and wife team has combined innovation and passion to create award winning wines. Stanley pioneered hard-anodized cookware in the 1970s and has continued to improve the ways we cook through innovations and he keeps that innovation going through his wines.
Our flagship wine label is named for our proprietors, Helen and Stanley. Our Hestan wines are made by Thomas Rivers Brown. Thomas is one of the most highly respected wine makers in the Valley. He masterfully creates beautiful wines that truly reflect the wines terroir from our estate. The Hestan portfolio contains Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. All of these wines are unfiltered and 100% varietals coming from the Estate Vineyards.
Named for Stanley and Helen’s two sons, Vincent and Christopher. This label was created for our Pinot Noir we first began making in 2015, using grapes from Walala, a vineyard that sits atop of a ridgeline overlooking the Sonoma Coast Pacific Ocean. Winemaker Jeff Gaffner a Pinot Noir specialist, chose this vineyard in particular to produce an outstanding wine. Jeff’s choice of vineyard paid off as our first vintage was recognized as one of the top Pinot Noirs in all of California by Wine Spectator in 2018.
