Winemaker Notes

Characterized by a lively ruby red color, Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia 2018 is a wine of great aromatic complexity, a distinctive feature of this vintage. In the glass, aromas of berries, blackberry, raspberry and red cherry are accompanied by floral hints of wild rose and spicy notes of pink pepper and licorice. On tasting, the wine has a good tannic structure, enveloping and balanced, with a crisp and savory finish.

Blend: 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, 17% Petit Verdot

James Suckling 95 Points

Robert Parker 93 Points

Made with the same passion and attention to detail as Ornellaia, Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia is a true “second vin”. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot, it combines approachability and a depth of flavour with proven ageing potential.

THE FRESCOBALDI FAMILY

For 700 years the Frescobaldi family has combined tradition, experience and innovation with creativity and the pursuit of excellence. The family has always looked to develop and celebrate the diversity of Tuscany’s terroir, being proud owners of some of the greatest vineyards in this region.

At the high point of medieval Florence, the Frescobaldis spread their influence as bankers, earning the title of treasures to the English crown. A little later, with the flowering of the Renaissance, they became patrons of major works in Florence, such as the construction of the Santa Trinita bridge and the Basilica of Santo Spirito. For generations creativity and a quest for excellence have inspired the Frescobaldi family.

They always seek to maintain the identity and autonomy of each property.

ORNELLAIA, perceived as one of the world’s iconic wineries, has flourished under the Frescobaldi family’s ownership. It is just one of the estates owned by the family alongside ATTEMS (Friuli), MASSETO, DANZANTE, LUCE DELLA VITE and the six FRESCOBALDI Estates, Nipozzano, CastelGiocondo, Pomino, Ammiraglia, Castiglioni and Remole.
