Grown on deep, gravelly soil, this Cabernet-Sauvignon has gentle acidity and fine-grained tannins. The extreme diurnal temperature fluctuations and the virtual absence of rain during the growing season guarantee freshness of fruit, without excessive herbal or eucalyptus notes.
The wine is aged around 8 months in used oak barrels the help the wine develop itself, enhancing but not overpowering its varietal character.
About Lagar de Bezana Winery
Lagar de Bezana was founded in the 1990s when Ricardo Benzanilla, entrepreneur and owner of a radio station in Santiago, found this site in the upper Cachapoal Valley, less than an hour drive south of Santiago. The land had been planted as an apple orchard and Ricardo had the land replanted to vines with a focus on Cabernet and Syrah. The estate is 54 hectares in size and located in the Rancagua area of the Cachapoal Valley. They are located at in the foothills of the Andes Mountains at 2100 feet above sea level. The soils and climate of the Alto Cachapoal Valley are ideally suited to quality viticulture, and with the attention to detail that is given, the wines have wonderful fruit purity to them.
