Winemaker Notes
A rich, expressive Cabernet Sauvignon with layers of blackberry purée, ripe plums, and sweet baking spices. Notes of vanilla bean and wild bramble fruits emerge with air, complemented by a subtle saline streak. The palate is dense and plush, unfolding with dark fruit, spice, and hints of cocoa powder. Silky tannins and vibrant acidity lead to a long, elegant finish.
About Mullan Road from Cakebread Cellars
Mullan Road Cellars is a journey into Washington winemaking led by Dennis Cakebread of Cakebread Cellars. Drawn by the high quality of wines and the camaraderie of the Walla Walla wine community, Dennis and winemaker Aryn Morell worked with the famed Seven Hills Vineyard on the southern edge of the Walla Walla Valley appellation as well as vineyards in the soon-to-be-recognized Royal Slope appellation to craft this powerful yet elegant Bordeaux-style Red Blend.

At Cakebread Cellars, we embrace environmental responsibility with green practices that range from sustainable and organic farming and diligent water/energy conservation to extensive recycling operations (nearly 90% of winery-generated waste). We are proud to have been an early industry leader in these efforts. In fact, Cakebread Cellars was only the second California winery to achieve Napa Green certification; we’re also certified as Fish Friendly and participate in the Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing program.
