Tasting Notes

Austere with bright red-currant flavors and ironlike tannins, this wine shows some youthful reduction in its tight green notes.
It’s a mineral take on cabernet, needing some cellar time to mellow and integrate.

About Crosby Romann

Who is Crosby Roamann?

There is no actual “Crosby Roamann” person. The name of our winery is derived from two of Sean’s grandparents — Norma “Peachy” Crosby, and Sally Roamann. Sean liked the sound of their two names combined, so he named the winery for them.

A boutique winery & small estate

Crosby Roamann is a boutique winery located in the heart of Napa Valley. We are a collaboration of the husband and wife team of Juliana Arvai McBride and Sean Walker McBride. We come from very different industries. Although Sean worked at a wine and cheese shop in college, he went onto law school and a short career as a litigator. Juliana went into publishing. We met in NYC through a mutual friend, fell in love, and that was supposed to be life.

Then we made our first barrel of wine in 2007 in Napa Valley, and very quickly realized what we were missing. We sold our apartment in Brooklyn, left our jobs, packed our things and our baby twin-daughters into the old Volvo station wagon, and headed way out west to start our lives over. The next eight years we skipped from one winery to another in Napa Valley to produce our wines and gain experience. In 2014, we purchased an abandoned warehouse in the Crusher District of Napa Valley and spent the next year converting the space to a winery.

Currently we produce two thousand cases per year from nine separate and distinct vineyards in Napa Valley. Our estate vineyard in Carneros produces an Estate Bottled Sauvignon Blanc, and has four acres of red Bordeaux varietals under development. We also manage Harmony School Vineyard, a one acre block of clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon in Coombsville, four acres of Satyrs Ridge Vineyard – an old vine selection of Cabernet Sauvignon from Saint Helena – and three quarters of an acre of Old Wente Clone Chardonnay in Carneros named Loma Blanca Vineyard.

We are consumed with the idea of crafting handmade wines from single vineyards. We believe that the finest wines are made in the smallest quantities, with the utmost care and attention to detail. We strive to produce wines that reflect the people, the places, and the vintages from which they come. To learn more, please contact us for a tour and tasting at the winery.
