TASTING NOTES

The Cave Blend is always one of our most approachable and attractive wines. The nose is very fruit forward with blackberry, and ripe plum. There is a sweet kiss of oak, vanilla bean and nutmeg spice. The mouthfeel is very broad and attractive, floating across the palate with pure silkiness. The Cave blend is very dynamic as it gains a lot of attributes from different varietals. This is a wine you can enjoy every day with everything from pasta and red sauce to barbequed brisket. Drink now through 2025.

Blend – 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 10% Zinfandel, 8% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Syrah, 1% Grenache

Dave Del Dotto has spent the past 25 years acquiring vineyards in some of the best American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) including Rutherford, Oakville, St. Helena, Howell Mountain, and Fort Ross-Seaview Sonoma Coast. Currently, our family produces cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, sangiovese and sauvignon blanc from our Napa Valley vineyards, as well as pinot noir, chardonnay and limited amounts of syrah, sauvignon blanc, sparkling grenache and mourvedre from our Cinghiale (wild boar) Vineyard in the King Ridge region of the Sonoma Coast.
