Winemaker Notes

From a legendary vineyard that is farmed by the University of California, Davis, this is a brilliant expression of Oakville terroir. Bold ripe aromas of blackberry, cassis, spice, and fresh cedar with a layer of old-fashioned black licorice. Despite its youthful exuberance, the first sip is smooth and lush. A symphony of complex flavors explodes with black fruit, plum, and a hint of extra dark chocolate. Tannic and powerful in condensed black fruit, this is a taut, oakdriven wine of tremendous density. Clove and cedar accents give it savory contrast among a tautness of texture that takes time to resolve in the glass. The finish is seductive, yet balanced, the deep fruit flavors that linger on the silky finish. While this young wine is approachable and satisfying now, you would certainly be rewarded with a little time in the cellar.

About Cornerstone Cellars

At Cornerstone Cellars, we take imagination seriously. As such, we aren’t content to be confined to one appellation. Between the Napa Valley, Sonoma, and the Santa Rita Hills, we’re humbled by the world-class quality of our vineyard partners’ fruit. First and foremost, we’re always sensitive to terroir, creating wines that accurately represent the qualities of the region they come from. That being said, we set out to make wines that have familiar qualities but still pleasantly surprise the palate.
