Tasting Notes
Straw yellow color with gold and green reflections, very clean and bright. Clean aromas of good intensity with fruity hints of apricot, pineapple and apple on a background of hay and white flowers. In the mouth it is broad, glyceric, with a balanced acidity that gives it freshness and elegance. Aftertaste with a very good final memory.
Food Pairing: Fish, seafood, fresh cheese.
About Bodegas Valtea
Situated just inside Spain at the north-eastern tip of Portugal, Valtea sits on the edge of the river Miño. The estate’s vineyards cover 37 acres, but another 17 acres are leased. Almost 100% are dedicated to Albariño, and almost all benefit from the natural terracing that characterizes this part of the river valley. While wine-maker Carla Gonzalez Chao emphasizes that the key to great wine is great grapes, there is no doubt that her special talents are responsible for capturing the fine balance of fruit and minerality.
