Tasting Notes

A dazzling dress with golden undertones. The nose is expressive, opulent with fruity notes and white flowers. A very delicate set. The palate is solid and elegant at the same time. A beautiful freshness for a complex whole where fresh fruit (white pear and vine peach) mingle, but also the magnificent well-balanced notes of a delicate woody note. The minerality is very present as well as a certain salinity which gives a particular relief to the richness of this wine which will take all its potential with time.

Situation

In the south of the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet shares with Puligny the undisputed prince of all the dry white wines of creation: the divine Montrachet (pronounced Mon-rachet). This wide and beautiful hillside brings the two Burgundian grape varieties to excellence. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay flourish here side by side due to the complexity of the terroirs.

Vinification

Traditional. Moderate pneumatic pressing. Settling of the must for 12 hours then full fermentation in the room (room = 228 l barrel). Aging on lees

About

Winemaking philosophy

The development of our climates, rich in their diversity and their subtlety, guides each step of our approach. From the vine to the bottle, permanent care aims to achieve excellence.

Our white wines are of great aromatic purity, precise and of great elegance.

Cutting-edge technology

The Château’s vat room makes it possible to vinify 5,000 hectoliters of wine. State-of-the-art equipment makes it possible to continue research into the quality of wines and reveal the potential of the terroirs. This equipment allows to respect the raw material and to optimize each stage of the vinification.

The latest generation presses guarantee a gentle extraction. The installations allow temperature control throughout the vatting and maturing cycle.
Several temperature-controlled cellars can accommodate up to 1,600 barrels.
