Tasting Notes:
Garnet cherry, with thick robe. Elegant and highly intense aromas, with fruity, mineral and spicy character. Powerful and fleshy palate, with clear notes of ripe fruit.
100% Tinta de Toro. (Tempranillo) Grapes coming from old bush vines, picked by hand and sorted on a sorting table before the entrance into the vat cellar.
Aged for one year in French and American oak casks.
About Bodegas Orot:
The origins of Orot date back to 1980, although it was in 1997, envisioning the development and possibilities of the Toro D.O., when we decided to build a winery of our own in the town of Toro, in the heart of the Appellation.
The two-floor building, one of which is buried underground, boasts an excellent crianza room maintained naturally at optimal temperature and humidity conditions, favouring the aging of our wines.
Orot has 20 hectares of their own vineyards with the Tinta de Toro variety, which is more than 15 years old. Located southeast of the province of Zamora, it is situated at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level.
The clay and sandstone terrain and limestone sediments, is ideal for growing this grape variety, which benefits greatly from soils which are lacking in organic matter, calcareous and with levels of humidity.
