Winemaker Notes

The Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties with which this wine is made belong to the oldest part of their La Planta estate; cultivated at 911 meters of altitude in the clay-calcareous soils, with the limestone bedrock one meter from the surface.

About Bodegas Arzuaga-Navarro

Bodegas Arzuaga-Navarro is located in Valladolid, in the middle of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. The setting where the wines produced by the winery are born can be found in La Finca La Planta, a property that the Arzuaga family owns in the Valladolid town of Quintanilla de Onésimo. With a privileged situation for the cultivation of the vine, since its vines receive the sun and the necessary humidity for the perfect ripening of the grape.

The elaboration of Arzuaga-Navarro wines is due, without any doubt, to three premises: the soil, the climate and the orientation.

La Planta is a place where the flora and fauna of the area coexist. A flora composed of pines, holm oaks and junipers and a fauna made up of wild boars and deer. This coexistence is, without a doubt, the confirmation of the love that the Arzuaga family feels for the world of nature. The farm consists of 1,400 hectares, a luxury in the middle of the denomination and the Golden Mile of the Ribera del Duero.

It is at the beginning of the 90s, when Florentino Arzuaga and after the purchase of the La Planta estate, begins with the planting of vines, the construction of the winery and, of course, the winemaking.
